Paral·lel Festival is a new electronic music festival which will take place from 2 to 4 September in the mountains surrounding the town of Guardiola de Berguedà (Barcelona). The festival is a project of the cultural association Owling Events. The proposal differs from the rest of festivals in Spain due to three distinctive features:
- Environment: the festival takes place in the countryside, with a large camping area in the heart of nature. Attendees may camp there during the weekend of the festival.
- Public: refusing the motto the more the better, entries are limited to 1,000 people. It is an intimate proposal where the priority is the public’s comfort.
- Music: sound quality and proximity to international and national artists within the independent electronic scene of techno, ambient and experimental music.
The first confirmed artists for 2016 edition are Abdulla Rashim (Northern Electronics / Semantica, Sweden), Peter Van Hoesen (Time To Express, Belgium), Cio D'Or (Prologue / Semantica, Germany), Eric Cloutier (The Bunker NY / Mosaic, USA), Svreca (Semantica, Spain), Mohlao (Meanwhile / Deep Sound Channel, The Netherlands) and Refracted (Mind Express / Silent Season, Spain). In the upcoming weeks, the remaining names will be announced to complete the full line-up.
Performances will be divided into three acts: prologue (Friday 2nd from 7 pm till night), tale (Saturday morning till night) and epilogue (Sunday morning until 7 pm). A 40-hour trip with a unique musical selection of artists who will perform in a single stage so that everyone shares a unique common experience.
